Bible Story Club

Bible Story Club meets on Friday lunchtimes at 1pm for Key Stage 2 children.

We are reading the stories of the Old Testament prophets, and particularly enjoyed learning about Elijah’s struggles with King Ahab and the evil Queen Jezebel. We have also liked reading about the struggles of the early Christian Community from the Acts of the Apostles.

The Club performs assemblies for KS1 and KS2 pupils, as well as residents of our neighbouring care home, Beaumont House. We have acted out -Naaman & the Little Servant Girl, Daniel in the Lions Den, Esther, Noah, Samson, Ruth, Joseph and the life of St Bernadette.

The Club is so popular we bought a dozen extra copies of ‘The Lion Bible For Children’ so that everyone can see a copy of the text. The children take it in turns to read a paragraph at a time.

The Bible is the story of God’s relationship with His people and it is a truly enriching experience to spend time learning more about  the triumphs, struggles, failures and successes of the people of God.

We have a Bible Club for KS1 children on Thursday lunchtimes, with the older children reading the stories to them.
