Welcome to EYFS, we are looking forward to a wonderful year and to see your children develop and grow as they begin their learning journey here at St Mary’s Voluntary Academy.
In Nursery our class teacher is Mrs Lane and our learning ambassador is Mrs Rossi.
In Reception (Classes 1 & 2) our class teachers are Mrs Brentnall, Miss Eley and Mrs Norris. Our learning ambassadors are Miss Wookey and Miss Brearley.
The Foundation Stage at St Mary’s Academy provides children with a holistic and firm foundation in which they continue to build upon for the rest of their educational journey. Our children learn through a wide range of play-based and child-initiated activities as well as more formal methods and adult-led group work. Through our topics we aim to inspire a true love of learning by encouraging all children to develop their confidence and curosity.
Our committed and experienced Early Years team share a vision to ensure all children are exposed to a wide variety of learning opportunities to enable all children to reach their full potential.
We develop meaningful links between home and school, encouraging parents to tell us about children’s interests and achievements outside of school so that we can share in their success. Throughout the year, we hold a variety of workshops to keep parents informed of teaching strategies and ways in which you can help at home.
